MP for Gordon, Alex Salmond, will hold a pop-up surgery at the New Deer Show on Sunday, July 17.

The surgery, which will be open to constituents between 10:30am and 12:30pm, is to be held within a SNP caravan.

The surgery echoes Mr Salmond's first election campaign, where he toured every town, village and hamlet across Banff & Buchan on the 1987 parliamentary election campaign trail.

Mr Salmond held  57 surgeries in a  yellow SNP caravan, parking outside town halls, in main streets and public car parks across the constituency.

He went on to win the seat with a majority of 2,441.

Attendees to the New Deer show are reminded that the surgery is open to Gordon constituents only.

Mr Salmond said:

"I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to re-enact my caravan-campaign days with the surgery, amid the hustle and bustle of the New Deer Show.

"My constituents are central to my work as an MP, and I look forward to seeing them on Sunday to address their questions and concerns."
